iOS 5 is just few hours away from the release for Public. Many people are waiting for the this major update of iOS 5 in order to update their iDevices to iOS 5 when it is out. People who own iPhone 3GS and are on iPad baseband will for sure update without any hiccups or with the fear that they will be locked once again. People who own iPhone 4 will be afraid and wont be updating their iPhone 4 to iOS 5 until unless there is an update released for Sn0wbreeze or the upcoming Redsn0w 0.9.9b5 to preserve their Basebands. Those who got Factory Unlock iPhone 4’s are good to go on iOS 5.

Now on iOS 5, people with old basebands and iPad basebands will be stucked in order to unlock their iDevice by Utrasn0w because it is broken on iOS 5. Well not to worry about that now because the Dev-team has taken care of it. The Dev-Team Member @MuscleNerd Tweeted that he will be releasing a fix for Ultrasn0w to work on iOS 5.

Any iOS 4.x.x or lower device where ultrasn0w works, also works in iOS5 (even iPad BB on 3GS). But *please wait* for our update!

He also mentions that please wait for the update of Ultrasn0w to be iOS 5 compatible. iOS 5 will be making its way for public in few hours and after that we will get major updates to Redsn0w and Sn0wbreeze like always. We hope that iOS 5 doesn’t brings hurdle for the hackers this time.

And the people who got iPhone 4 on new basebands are not left behind. They can preserve the baseband and update to iOS 5 with the help of Sn0wbreeze abd Redsn0w 0.9.9b5. The new baseband are as follow:
