Apple has recently seeded the new iOS 5.1 firmware version in the public, along with the announcement of the iPad 3 in public. The update includes the number of new features, security patches, new challenges for the developers, and a complete new support for the Japanese in Siri for the iPhone 4S users. With the iOS 5.1, Apple’s intelligent virtual assistant learned a new language to speak all over the world with similar ancient users.  But what if Siri doesn’t currently support your language? No problem, there is already a developer out there with having a successful prototype in its hand running with a Hindi language, which is currently not supported by Apple’s official Siri service.

The project is initialized by iOS developer Kunal Kaul, who claims to develop a Siri Project that enables it to speak a Hindi language with the help of its own managed Siri Proxy server. He has demoed a video showing up its iPhone 4S Siri able to speak Hindi with a little help of its own configured Siri Proxy server integrated with Google Translate API, which is capable of translating English into Hindi.

iPhone 4S Siri Speaks Hindi

However, the process of using a proxy server to enhance the Siri’s capabilities has been a pretty popular these days, as a little program and user can easily configure its own proxy server on local network, and with a little how now of programming can enable different things in the Siri, like controlling lights, TV and other appliances. The developer behind the Hindi Speaking project of Siri, Kunal Kaul, has commented that there is still “lots of work to be done” before launching the feature in public.

Here’s Why Steve Jobs Liked Siri To Include It In iPhone 4S

by Hamza Tariq - on Mar 28th 2012 - No Comments

No doubt that Siri is the only back-bone of Apple’s iPhone 4S success, as the phone offers similar features to old-gen iPhone 4 model but users liked the new model due to the addition of new intelligent virtual personal assistant. However, the Siri was not initially developed by Apple; instead it was a normal stand-alone application available in the App Store for the iPhone and iPad users.  Dag Kittlaus, the original mega mind behind the Siri contacted by the Steve Jobs, as he was interested to get the feature inside the newer iOS generation devices. The original Siri was killed by the Apple from App Store, and then they work with additional developers to make it more powerful and integrated into the iPhone 4S for the first public launch of the service, and believe us it simply works and saved Apple from the downfall.

However, now it is reported that the Dag Kittlaus, co-founder of Siri, shared some of the tidbits regarding the initial development of Siri during a keynote speech given in Chicago yesterday. Network World reporting on Kittlaus speech on keynote, according to Kittlaus, Steve Jobs personally liked the Siri application from the very first day, and just after three weeks of Siri launch in the App Store, Steve Jobs contacted him to plan a meeting regarding the Siri application.

And he wanted me to come over to his house the next day, and I did, and I spent 3 hours with him in front of his fireplace having this surreal conversation about the future.

And, you know, he talked about why Apple was going to win, and we talked about how Siri was doing. And he was very excited about the fact that.. you know, he was very interested in this area in general but, you know, they’re patient, they don’t jump on anything until they feel they can go after something new and he felt that we cracked it. So that was his attraction.

Kittlaus noted in the keynote speech that Jobs liked the intelligent personal assistant, but he didn’t like the “Siri” name, but after generous support from Dag Kittlaus and failure of their own research regarding the research for an alternative name for Siri, he continued using the Siri name during the iPhone 4S launch.

Roughly, a month ago, Apple released the new iOS 5.1 firmware update in the public, and it is reported that users have quickly adopted this iOS update and updated their devices to the latest iOS 5.1 firmware version, as expecting the jailbreak community will again bring the untethered jailbreak to exploit and all tweaks working back on the newer iOS 5.1 firmware version, but it seems that it not going to be happen this time, and users have to miss some of their most-wanted features with iOS 5.0.1. The iOS Hackers have already warned users not to update their device to the latest iOS 5.1 firmware version as there are no method downgrades it on the older iOS 5.0.1 firmware version but still many users ignore the warning and updated their devices to latest iOS firmware versions.

Spire For iOS 5.1
The iOS 5.0.1 untethered jailbreak brings the lot of things to the jailbreak hackers, as Apple forgets to encrypt the iPhone 4S Siri files in the operating system and seeded the iOS firmware version without any kind of extra security, so the famous developers out there successfully able to generate such tweaks and plugins for the older iOS devices that allow them to port Siri into an iPhone 4 / iPad 2, and even on the iPhone 3GS. Chpwn released the famous tool Spire in Cydia that brings the Siri on older devices with iOS 5.0.1 untethered jailbreak, and reportedly, many users are currently using the Siri on older devices thanks to the chpwn jailbreak tweak, but it is now reported that in iOS 5.1, Apple has totally changed the way Siri request data from the Apple’s server, and encrypts the whole process.

The famous hacker Ryan Petrich told us that the new iOS 5.1 would not allow developers to create a new version of Spire, as it totally changes the work of Siri. It is also reported that users have to stay on iOS 5.0.1, until they have not figured out any trick to explode the Apple’s new security over the Siri protocol in iOS 5.1. The hacker reported that Spire would not be able to install on the iOS 5.1, and the Cydia will also block the installation of the tweak, as it is not compatible.

So if you are one of those, who have been using the Siri on your older devices on daily purpose and don’t want to lose Siri from your device, then stick to iOS 5.0.1, and do not update your device to the latest iOS 5.1 until they have noted announce any update to Spire for iOS 5.1.

You Could Be Breaking The Law, If You Use Siri Dictation For Work

by Hamza Tariq - on Mar 21st 2012 - No Comments

There are numbered of ready to use applications present in the App Store for the iOS devices with an ability to provide speech-to-text a feature under the term Dictation, but Apple introduced its own features and service in the iPhone 4S last year with the addition of Siri into the iPhone series. However, people loved the service gone nasty to get these services on their other devices too, as they work like a charm on the board. Therefore, Apple decided to put a little part of the service into the upcoming new iPad update along with other features.

Siri Dictation comes right way on the new iPad, and Apple announced that there are still no plans to port the Siri into the iPad series, but they have managed to port the Siri dictation into an iPad. Across the different fields, a large number of user and professionals use dictation type service on their offices and workstation to quickly note down the text the speak; many users hire humans to do this task, but now with an advanced technology it can be done over cloud with high-end servers and services that quickly dictates the whole statement without bugging on any part of the story. However, to accomplish this task the services needed to be connected with their servers from where they can easily bring information about the sentences you are speaking. It’s a kind of robot that is not allowed to speak back, but only configured to note down your commands into the memory.

Many users have been now started using the technology at the official level due to its excellence, but forget the dark side of the story. Let us to clear you, to accomplish the pure and high-quality dictation the services and Apple’s dictation is required to be connected with Apple’s Server through the new iPad and iPhone 4S. The device should be running on the active network connection with a grant passed to access the Apple’s server to sync what you are saying and clearing it into the best quality.

In short, the services want to first think what you are saying to their servers, and then on server response your device understands what you said. If you are using dictation to write any kind of text on your mobile, in short you are leaking and making proof of the chat over the Apple’s server. If you ask Siri to look up into your contacts, then it means you allow Siri to first upload your contacts to its server and then check for the right options.

However, in business fields where the information is really important for the whole company and organization, and especially the number of profits, sales and other planning details it could break your company privacy law, and get you fired over the leakage of their information to Apple’s Server. Dictation Service is good, but in the other words it is only for personal usage not at least for business or anonymous works.

What do you think about our core idea behind this article? Siri Dictation seriously breaks the law or just breaks some rules?

by Hamza Tariq - on Mar 13th 2012 - No Comments

We are not sure, whether you are satisfied with the new Siri service on iPhone 4S or not, but we can claim one thing most of the users are enjoying the service on their devices, instead they are helping a large number of developers in the preparation of different handy tools for the service to make it more helpful for the users. However, no doubt there are also a number of users who always found out themselves in trouble with a query to Siri; however, we know the Siri is not much intelligent, and lacks something in recognizing the worlds you have said her, but it doesn’t mean that it won’t work.

It is reported that Apple has been recently targeted by a new lawsuit registered by one of the iPhone 4S users, who claimed that Apple is involved in the production of misleading commercials featuring Siri on its iPhone 4S, and tricking the world to purchase the iPhone 4S over the other iOS devices, while in the real-life the service won’t work quickly as such seen in the advertisement. A user from New York, registered a lawsuit against the company and seeking to be paid for damages, in short want to get the money back it wasted in the purchase of iPhone 4S, and wants the court to ban Apple on producing such misleading advertisements in the public that actually tricks the users to purchase your device over the other devices.

While, Apple has yet to comment on this issue publicly, but one thing is important there, is that Apple has already mentioned on its website clearly that Siri is a beta-testing project, and to improve its overall work, they have launched the service in the beta stage for the first time. Apple released the Siri publicly to improve its comprehensive work on the iOS devices, and wants to absorb more audio query data to bring more options on the device. However, now with the new lawsuit, Apple has been told by official securities that company has to appear in court to settle down this issue.

HalfSiriFirst is a new tweak launched in Cydia, and nothing offering special things to the users, instead it makes some changes to your normal Siri loading page, and resize the Siri window to half screen of your device, and claims to be made it faster in launching process.
