TinyUmbrella Got Updated To Fix Crashing Bug On Windows

by Hamza Tariq - on Jan 6th 2012 - No Comments

Last week, the developer of TinyUmbrella updated the most famous tool of jailbreaking community with the support for the iPhone 4S iOS 5.0.1r2 to save the SHSH blobs and AP Tickets for the Untethered Jailbreak, but it appears that some Windows users have been experiencing a lot of issues with the latest version of TinyUmbrella to launch.

Windows Bug Squashed
Thanks to an especially determined user (@szr8) I finally squashed a nasty bug that caused Windows users’ TU to crash on startup. Apparently it was something stupid that I was doing that I thought i wasn’t doing. :) Either way. Many of you have voiced this issue but now it’s fixed. This fix affects you if TU would crash on startup with “LibraryFinder” errors in the log.

Enjoy!

The recent version of the TinyUmbrella comes up with a little bug which causes the software crash on the startup. However, the developer has updated the tool with bug fixed and now seems to be working fine for the users on the Windows OS. If you are one of those who have been experiencing the same issue, simply download the latest version of TinyUmbrella and fetch your iOS blobs again for the iPhone 4S iOS 5.0.1r2.

TinyUmbrella Gets An Update To Save The SHSH Blobs For iPhone 4S’s iOS 5.0.1 (9A406)

by Absar Abdul Rahman - on Jan 4th 2012 - No Comments

Today tweets after tweets we are getting new information revealed. In the last hour @pod2g told that the untethered jailbreak for iOS 5.0.1 will release next week for iPhone 4S and iPad 2 and then he also tweeted to the users of iPhone 4S and iPad 2 to update to iOS 5.0.1.

TU supports iPhone 4S 9A406 – Sorry for the delay. Small oversight…

From the blog post of Semaphore

Although we cannot exploit/restore iPhone 4S SHSHs we still should save them just in case. I’ve just updated TU to support iPhone 4S 5.0.1b “9A406″.

Today the tool to save SHSH blobs also got updated to save the SHSH Blobs for iOS 5.0.1 (9A406) for iPhone 4S. We can now only save the SHSH Blobs of iPhone 4S with the help of Tiny Umbrella, but we cannot restore to the iOS 5.0.1 of iPhone 4S because it is not yet vulnerable to any exploit.

It is good to save the SHSH blobs for iPhone 4S for now because the iOS 5.1 is around the corner and it might come some time today or within this week. The iOS 5.1 beta 2 was released 2 weeks back ago aiming to fix the battery issues on iPhone 4S.

SHSH Blobs For iOS 5.0.1 Are Saved By Cydia Now

by Daudi - on Dec 24th 2011 - No Comments

The day since Apple blocked the way to save SHSH on iOS 5.0, Hackers got a new challenge to accomplish. In previous days we had came across many new news regarding the SHSH Blobs saving tools got updated and now you can save your SHSH blobs with them. The first tool to get partial update for iOS 5.0.1 support was Tiny Umbrella. Tiny Umbrella the well known tool used to save current and future SHSH Blobs for iDevices got the support for iOS 5.0.1. Tiny Umbrella was able to save the Tentative SHSH Blobs for iOS 5.0.1.

Later on, iFaith, the another tool made by iOS hacker called ih8sn0w, updated its tool to save SHSH Blobs+ AP Tickets for iOS 5.0 and iOS 5.0.1. iFaith saves the current SHSH Blobs of iOS you are on. iFaith is also one of the most handy tool to have.

After all the tools, the wait was of Cydia. When Cydia would get the support for iOS 5.0.1 SHSH Blobs. In past Cydia was able to save all the SHSH Blobs of the iOS on which your iDevice was running and it was easy for you to restore the iDevice to the previous firmware without any glitch. So once again today Cydia made all the users happy. Today Cydia showed the support of iOS 5.0.1 by saving the SHSH Blobs for iOS 5.0.1.

Those of who you missed to see Cydia today can now log on to Cydia and see the iOS 5.0.1 SHSH in Cydia. If you cannot see the SHSH Blobs in Cydia, So use tiny Umbrella or iFaith to save your SHSH Blobs+AP Tickets which will help you in future restore.

The support of iOS 5.0.1 SHSH Blobs in Cydia shows a good sign for the Prime Time. To know more about The Prim Time visit here.

iFaith 1.4.1 Released With Minor Bugs Fixed And iOS 4.4.4 Support

by Daudi - on Dec 21st 2011 - No Comments

iFaith is the first tool which is getting very famous after Tiny Umbrella to save SHSH Blobs. Tiny Umbrella used to save SHSH for current and future iOS’s whereas iFaith only saves the current SHSH Blobs. After the release of iOS 5.x, Apple had blocked the SHSH Blobs saving procedure for iDevices. Those who were on iOS 5.0 were stuck after the release of iOS 5.0.1 because there was no way that they can save SHSH Blobs for iOS 5.0 and update to iOS 5.0.1. Some of them updated to iOS 5.0.1 by sacrificing their iOS 5.0 for iOS 5.0.1.

Those who updated to iOS 5.0.1 were regretting their update decision when ih8sn0w, the developer behind Sn0wbreeze came with an update of iFaith which could let you save your SHSH Blobs for iOS 5.0 and iOS 5.0.1 with AP Tickets. The update helped you to save SHSH Blobs for iOS 5.0/ 5.0.1 by which you can restore to iOS 5.0.1 and iOS 5.0 to retain Jailbreak. This was a brilliant and very innovative step taken by ih8sn0w by updating its tool and allowing users to save their SHSH Blobs for iOS 5.x.x.

Today iFaith got updated to new version with some minor changes and support for Apple TV’s iOS 4.4.4 added to it. The new version of Apple TV was released this past week. iFaith is only for windows so far.

The change log is as follow:

iFaith v1.4.1 Release Notes:

——————————————-

* Added Apple TV 4.4.4 (9A406a) support.

* TinyUmbrella iOS 4.4.x/5.x.x blobs are now accepted.

* Resolved rare DFU detection issues.

* Resolved issues with 8GB iPhone 4 Models.

* Resolved iPhone 3GS issues with factory certificates/Error 21

  that occurred during restore.

* Resolved iOS Detection issues.

* Removed kill-switch that accidentally got distributed in

  iFaith-v1.4′s public release.

* Don’t expect A5 device support until a DFU bootrom

  exploit is publicly available.

* Thanks to JKjeepnJeff & JPWest for their contributions

  to this release! :)

Tweet any bugs via twitter to @iH8sn0w

// iH8sn0w

In this new build of iFaith, ih8sn0w has fixed some issues which were causing the problem for saving SHSH Blobs for some iDevices. The tool failed to detect the iOS Device, when the user entered its iDevice into DFU for the SHSH saving procedure. The support for the new iOS 4.4.4 for Apple TV 2G has been also added.

Still the support for A5 Devices is not yet done because there is no Jailbreak so far for the A5 equipped iDevices. The Jailbreak for A5 iDevices is under process and will be out some time soon.

Till then Download iFaith from below and save your SHSH Blobs.

New Redsn0w To Use Save iOS 5 SHSH Blobs For Untethered Jailbreak

by Daudi - on Dec 9th 2011 - 1 Comment

As we all know that the new update of iOS 5 which is iOS 5.1 is coming soon. Apple has released iOS 5.1 Beta 1 for Developers few weeks back. With the update of iOS 5.0.1 from iOS 5.0, we never had a chance to save our SHSH Blobs for iOS 5.0. There was no way till now by which we could even save the SHSH Blobs for iOS 5.0.1. It was looking like every one had given up and now the dog and cat fight is over. We only had two options, Either to stay on iOS 5.0 or compromise with Jailbreak and update to iOS 5.0.1 o fix the battery issues.

Many of you might have updated to iOS 5.0.1 and some of you might be still one iOS 5.0. Those of who you updated to iOS 5.0.1 to fix the battery issues, later on found out that the issue is still present. After finding and swearing at Apple, there was no way you can go back to iOS 5.0. Later on Tiny Umbrella Developer, NotCom, made a move and updated its tool to save Tentative SHSH blobs for iOS 5.0.1 and iOS 5.1 Beta 1. This update brought us some hope. Later on, after the update of Tiny Umbrella, ih8sn0w, the well known hacker behind the tool Sn0wbreeze, made an update to its tool called iFaith.

iFaith is the tool made by ih8sn0w to dump your current SHSH blobs. After the update of iFaith, to save the SHSH Blobs for iOS 5.0 and iOS 5.0.1, we were happy now. Those who were on iOS 5.0 saved their SHSH for iOS 5.0 and those who were one iOS 5.0.1 saved their iOS 5.0.1 SHSH blobs. With those SHSH Blobs you can restore to the firmware you are on. Somehow this wasn’t a perfect solution for people who want to downgrade. They could only downgrade to the firmware they are on. But this iFaith update didn’t made us lose our hope.

More over the idea of iFaith and the AP Tickets saving impressed the Dev-Team. So today the Dev-Team announced that they are working on a new version of Redsn0w which will help people to go back on older version of iOS 5. The new version Redsn0w will make the use of both Cydia and Tiny Umbrella SHSH Blobs.

Today @MuscleNerd Tweeted that:

Upcoming redsn0w release makes both TinyUmbrella and Cydia blob saves useful for 5.0+ (1st verifies, then stitches)

This is a great news for all the down-graders waiting for some perfect solution.

@MuscleNerd also Tweeted that people should save the SHSH Blobs for iOS 5.0.1 as for now using the current version of tiny Umbrella.

For time being, please just use most recent TU to save 5.0.1 blobs+APTicket…redsn0w will do the rest, should you need to restore.

This is another great news and a new hhope for all of us by the Dev-Team.

But the question is, do we really need a Downgrade?

Most you would answer, YES. But in my opinion NO!. Because the most important thing we need is Jailbreak and Unlock. And no one is talking about it.

Tiny Umbrella Is Back With The Support Of iOS 5.1 Beta 1

by Daudi - on Dec 1st 2011 - No Comments

A new day and a new news. Not new, but indeed a great news. Finally the support for iOS 5 SHSH Blobs coming close. Previously the tool was updated to save the Tentative SHSH of iOS 5.0.1 for iDevices including iPhone 4S. The iOS 5.0.1 SHSH are not yet completely compatible but you can save them for future, so in near future when ever the solution is there, you must got something to go back on.

With the release of iOS 5, Apple had closed all the doors for the SHSH Blobs. Even Cydia cannot save SHSH for iOS 5. After the release of  iOS 5.1 beta 1, we came across a news that Apple hasn’t encrypted the Firmware. Any one can have access to the root files of the firmware. So today NotCom released an update to its tool, Tiny Umbrella with the support of iOS 5.1 Beta 1.

5.1b1 support added. Still no status on 5.x firmware nonce bypassing restores…

This doesn’t means that you can go back to iOS 5.x firmwares because the work is still in progress for the restore on iOS 5.x. This also doesn’t means that you got the SHSH and update while saying that you can downgrade because you got SHSH for the particular iOS 5.x firmware. No matter what happens, don’t update.

Once again, Don’t update to any newer iOS 5.x version. There is no way for downgrading back to iOS 5.0. Remember, the Untethered Jailbreak will be released for iOS 5.0. So in order to obtain the Jailbreak for newer iDevices, Don’t update.

You can download Tiny Umbrella for MAC OS X and Windows from Here.
