Gevey Pro Plus is Not by ApplenBerry [Confirmed]

by Daudi - on May 25th 2011 - 1 Comment

Few weeks back we came across a new SIM which was Gevey Pro Plus claiming that it can Unlock iPhone 4 without dialling 112, which was used by Gevey Pro and Gevey SIM.

Gevey Pro and Gevey SIM were released officially by Applenberry. Gevey Pro Plus is available on Gevey.us, and they claim to be the part of ApplenBerry, where as ApplenBerry’s website doesn’t show any such thing as Gevey Pro Plus.

So I contacted the sales team of Applenberry and they said they said that this was not their product.

Comment: Dear Sir,

I came across this new sim called as Gevey Pro Plus and didn’t saw on your web. Here is the link http://www.gevey.us/-attachment_id=115.htm.

So i was wondering if you can take some time and through some light on this product and tell me if it is real and working fine ?

Regards,
Daudi

Applenberry to me : That is not our product. Don’t get ripped off if you plan on purchasing it.

Most amazing thing. The color of the cover of the Gevey Pro Plus on Gevey.us has been changed to Red from Yellow.

Old:                                                                                                                                           New:

It is very early to say any thing on it is fake or real.

So don’t get ripped off by going for Gevey Pro Plus.

REBEL SIM iPhone 4 Unlock Mystery Comes to an END

by Daudi - on May 6th 2011 - 12 Comments

Well finally the game of Rebel SIM iPhone 4 Unlocking comes to an end. Special thanks to Adrian Pop for helping us and taking out his precious time and sending us some info and the pics of the Rebel SIM Card.

The day before we reported that the Rebel SIM is fake and provided some proof for it. We didn’t miss anything about the Rebel SIM Card. Rebel people claimed that it is just plug and play and they showed some video of it in action. But the way it works is totally different from the way it is posted on the web of their that how it works.

First we would like to show some proof that it really works.

This is what the user has to say about the SIM:

I live in romania, my carrier is Orange Romania. My i4 is locked in O2 UK. I preserved baseband from 4.1 (02.10.04). Very hard and very tricky to make it work, but at least you only have to dial 112 and hang up IMMEDIATELY, you don’t have to wait for connection a.k.a Gevey SIM. Hope this helps.

If you have to dial 112 then why go for Rebel? Even the user guide provided by Rebel SIM also states that:

How To use for all 2G Network simcards and %60 of 2G/3G & 3G only network simcards.
Preparing to power on your iphone for the first time with Rebel Micro simcards
1 – insert all together (rebel micro sim card + your provider sim + sim tray) into your powered
OFF iphone 4 and make a small cut on your operator simcard so your sim can fit in the tray we
sent you.
2 – power on your iphone…
3 – wait for the network to come…
4 – Now Enable Data Roaming and that’s it… you have your 3g/2g network and data connection
and enter APN settings if data does not work for you as you need to enter your networks
settings.

The above statement is the same as posted on their web, but none have reported that if the SIM works this way. Few of the people who used it reported the way present below worked for them.

How Use for 2G/3G & 3G Only Simcards if you dont get Auto Network Detection
Preparing to power on your iphone for the first time with Rebel Micro simcards
1 – insert all together (rebel micro sim card + your provider sim + sim tray) into your powered
OFF iphone 4 and make a small cut on your operator simcard so your sim can fit in the tray we
sent you.
2 – power on your iphone… wait for 1 signal bar to appear but not less than 10 seconds after
your phone fully boot and do not rush here and take your time till the phone is responsice and
if the phone is operating slow then wait till all the user interface is functioning without lags.
3 – go to dial pad and make a call to 112 and end right away by pressing BIG RED ‘END call’
button as soon as it will appear on your screen.
Note we are not making a call that is going to connect.

You can Download the whole User Manual from here.

If you want to call at 112 in Rebel so why not to go for Gevey SIM better than Rebel SIM. Less painful and easy to use.

So at the end of the day Rebel SIM really works but to make it wok is a very painful method and some ninja skills required. The choice is yours.Do it easy way bu Gevey or do the Hard way by Rebel.

Why New Remote iPhone Unlocking Services Can be Risky

by Daudi - on Apr 13th 2011 - No Comments

Few days ago many websites and people were claiming that they can go do Factory Unlock for iPhone 4 which means iPhone 4 will be unlocked for life. We reported websites which are doing these things.  First it was Cutyour SIM and now there are many.

Why they are risky.

As noted by prominent iPhone hacker MuscleNerd, the procedure seems to involve accessing Apple’s database to directly add IMEI device identifiers for unlocking.

they’re not using a hack. They’re using actual access to the Apple database (which is why the unlock happens through iTunes)

According to macrumors:

Adding a device’s IMEI to Apple’s database for unlocked iPhones should in theory permanently unlock the device, although the company could conceivably find a way to identify those entries that had been made improperly and remove them, rendering those devices re-locked once they again sync with iTunes. Consequently, most of the sites offering unlocking services are failing to guarantee that the unlock will be permanent.

This was also clarified MuscleNerd that every time you restore a new authentication code Generates via iTunes to Unlock your iPhone and this can be some time later blocked by Apple after seeing the database.

Other websites claiming to Unlock for like $29 or $40 with Jailbreak and tells that they will give a software, so they are totally Fake and Spammers. Don’t believe them.

Till now no words are being said on Official software Unlock for iPhone 4.

I also asked for the Guarantee from the webs claiming the Remote Unlocks and none have replied yet.  So the choice is your.  The website which i had mentioned, it will be verified and whole things like guarantee and stuff, time will be posted up.

iPad Baseband 6.15.00 Will be Downgraded to 5.13.02 to Fix GPS on iPhone 3G/ 3GS [Confirmed]

by Daudi - on Apr 10th 2011 - No Comments

Some time back we told you that iPad baseband downgrade is coming soon. That Soon never came and we all are stuck on iPad baseband which is 6.15.00 and Unlocked on iPhone 3G and 3GS. When we updated it Redsn0w said a big warning that you think twice before doing it. Once done there is no way back to old baseband.

Till now we all are stuck with  a hope that the Baseband will be downgraded as we got no GPS on iPad baseband 6.15.00. Some of those who were smart stayed on old baseband 5.12.02 and 5.13.02 and waited for Snowbreeze and PWNAGE Tool to get updated to Preserve the baseband.

Some people are on iOS 4.3.1 on iPhone 3GS without the iPad baseband and waiting for the Unlock for the new baseband which is 5.16.02 should know that no Unlock will come for the new Baseband.

Similarly a person on Twitter having the same new baseband 5.1602 on iPone 3GS asked MuscleNerd about the Baseband Unlock.

@MuscleNerd what about people with 3GS firmware 4.3.1 and baseband 5.16.02? How long do we have to wait to unlock our devices :( i hope soon

@macOSxandiOS (because the downgrade from 06.15 goal is much higher priority than explicit 05.14,05.15, or 05.16 unlock. Achieves same.)

The Dev-Team doesn’t want to waste time on making the new Unlock for the basebands 5.14.02,5.15.02, and 5.16.02.

A fan who totally lost the hope for the baseband Downgrade of iPad baseband 6.15.00 asked MuscleNerd on Twitter:

@MuscleNerd it seems you guys have no interest in fixing gps issues with 6.15.00. Am I right??

@Kamiela2010 the downgrade potential from 06.15 remains (in my mind) 99% doable, but other things always seem to preempt working on it

If you ask us about the E.T.A for this thing, As we told before and we will say the same. It will come after iPhone 4 Unlock. So wait will be longer and those who didn’t updated to iPad baseband must not Update and they should wait for the further confirmation. They might be able to Downgrade from 5.16 and below.

Update:

We will soon get a downgrade tool from iPhone Dev Team, they have stated on the first ever jailbreak convention MyGreatFest that they will surely release the tool after the public release of iOS 5. iOS 5 is rumored to be launch around October’s 2nd week, ahead of iPhone 5 launch.

All you Need to Know about iPhone 4 baseband 2.10.04 / 3.10.01/4.10.01 unlocking with REBEL SIM

by Daudi - on Apr 5th 2011 - 2 Comments

Ages ago we saw iPhone 4 Software Unlock on iOS 4.0.1 and 4.0.2 having the baseband 1.59.00. Now it has been months since people are using iPhone4 like an iPod and no unlock till now. Gevey Sim was a hit in the market as being a single owner and the method was like a Tethered Jailbreak. Means every time you restart your iPhone you need to do the method again and was costly.

Some days after we reported about a new upcoming SIM called Rebel Micro Sim Card which will perform the same Function as Gevey Sim does, but in a different way.

Rebel Micro simcard is launching at the Gadget Show Live in April and start shipping 6th of April.

2 Designs to use to unlock your iPhone 4

Rebel Pro Micro Sim Card is supplied with its own custom iPhone 4 Sim tray so the IC stays inside the iPhone 4 and is our Flagship Product.

Rebel Lite Micro Sim Card does not require a special iPhone Sim tray and the IC is located on the outside of the iPhone 4 when installed and is designed for Budget users.

There are two types offered by the company Rebel Pro and Rebel Lite.

With Rebel Pro you get a SIM tray, Programmer USB, and much more.

With Rebel Lite you only get a String type Sim thing.

The advantage of Rebel Pro is that you get an adapter to update the SIM Software to Unlock in future or if the company makes any changes to the product.

If you want to know how it is better than Gevey Sim, so here is the best Advantage you have. This SIM is like an Untethered Jailbreak means if you reboot your iPhone so you don’t have to do the procedure again and again. The signals will come up automatically.

The price of the Rebel Pro is not very expensive like Gevey Sim. It costs GBP 40 for Rebel Pro and GBP 30 for Rebel Lite. The amount is fixed in GBP. If you want to see how much will it cost to you, so you can go here and see how much it costs.

Pre-Orders are opened from Today. you can also order one for your self from here. Release due on 6th April .To know how much will the shipping cost and what method they will use and if they ship to your country or not see all the details from here.

One of our user has used the Rebel SIM Card and here are his reviews. He got it today Luckily.

Hello daudi I bought mine on www.rebelsimcard.com. They said on the site shipping begins on 6th of April but I got it today in my mail. It’s really well packed and you get the simtray and there in is the rebel sim build in. Put my own vodasim in and rebooted and it got signal so it wasn’t so hard. Upgraded my iphoney to 4.3.1 and it still works and the software for firmware upgrade for the Rebel SIM Card works also fine.
