iFaith 1.4.1 Released With Minor Bugs Fixed And iOS 4.4.4 Support

by Daudi - on Dec 21st 2011 - No Comments

iFaith is the first tool which is getting very famous after Tiny Umbrella to save SHSH Blobs. Tiny Umbrella used to save SHSH for current and future iOS’s whereas iFaith only saves the current SHSH Blobs. After the release of iOS 5.x, Apple had blocked the SHSH Blobs saving procedure for iDevices. Those who were on iOS 5.0 were stuck after the release of iOS 5.0.1 because there was no way that they can save SHSH Blobs for iOS 5.0 and update to iOS 5.0.1. Some of them updated to iOS 5.0.1 by sacrificing their iOS 5.0 for iOS 5.0.1.

Those who updated to iOS 5.0.1 were regretting their update decision when ih8sn0w, the developer behind Sn0wbreeze came with an update of iFaith which could let you save your SHSH Blobs for iOS 5.0 and iOS 5.0.1 with AP Tickets. The update helped you to save SHSH Blobs for iOS 5.0/ 5.0.1 by which you can restore to iOS 5.0.1 and iOS 5.0 to retain Jailbreak. This was a brilliant and very innovative step taken by ih8sn0w by updating its tool and allowing users to save their SHSH Blobs for iOS 5.x.x.

Today iFaith got updated to new version with some minor changes and support for Apple TV’s iOS 4.4.4 added to it. The new version of Apple TV was released this past week. iFaith is only for windows so far.

The change log is as follow:

In this new build of iFaith, ih8sn0w has fixed some issues which were causing the problem for saving SHSH Blobs for some iDevices. The tool failed to detect the iOS Device, when the user entered its iDevice into DFU for the SHSH saving procedure. The support for the new iOS 4.4.4 for Apple TV 2G has been also added.

Still the support for A5 Devices is not yet done because there is no Jailbreak so far for the A5 equipped iDevices. The Jailbreak for A5 iDevices is under process and will be out some time soon.

Till then Download iFaith from below and save your SHSH Blobs.

New Redsn0w To Use Save iOS 5 SHSH Blobs For Untethered Jailbreak

by Daudi - on Dec 9th 2011 - 1 Comment

As we all know that the new update of iOS 5 which is iOS 5.1 is coming soon. Apple has released iOS 5.1 Beta 1 for Developers few weeks back. With the update of iOS 5.0.1 from iOS 5.0, we never had a chance to save our SHSH Blobs for iOS 5.0. There was no way till now by which we could even save the SHSH Blobs for iOS 5.0.1. It was looking like every one had given up and now the dog and cat fight is over. We only had two options, Either to stay on iOS 5.0 or compromise with Jailbreak and update to iOS 5.0.1 o fix the battery issues.

Many of you might have updated to iOS 5.0.1 and some of you might be still one iOS 5.0. Those of who you updated to iOS 5.0.1 to fix the battery issues, later on found out that the issue is still present. After finding and swearing at Apple, there was no way you can go back to iOS 5.0. Later on Tiny Umbrella Developer, NotCom, made a move and updated its tool to save Tentative SHSH blobs for iOS 5.0.1 and iOS 5.1 Beta 1. This update brought us some hope. Later on, after the update of Tiny Umbrella, ih8sn0w, the well known hacker behind the tool Sn0wbreeze, made an update to its tool called iFaith.

iFaith is the tool made by ih8sn0w to dump your current SHSH blobs. After the update of iFaith, to save the SHSH Blobs for iOS 5.0 and iOS 5.0.1, we were happy now. Those who were on iOS 5.0 saved their SHSH for iOS 5.0 and those who were one iOS 5.0.1 saved their iOS 5.0.1 SHSH blobs. With those SHSH Blobs you can restore to the firmware you are on. Somehow this wasn’t a perfect solution for people who want to downgrade. They could only downgrade to the firmware they are on. But this iFaith update didn’t made us lose our hope.

More over the idea of iFaith and the AP Tickets saving impressed the Dev-Team. So today the Dev-Team announced that they are working on a new version of Redsn0w which will help people to go back on older version of iOS 5. The new version Redsn0w will make the use of both Cydia and Tiny Umbrella SHSH Blobs.

Today @MuscleNerd Tweeted that:

Upcoming redsn0w release makes both TinyUmbrella and Cydia blob saves useful for 5.0+ (1st verifies, then stitches)

This is a great news for all the down-graders waiting for some perfect solution.

@MuscleNerd also Tweeted that people should save the SHSH Blobs for iOS 5.0.1 as for now using the current version of tiny Umbrella.

For time being, please just use most recent TU to save 5.0.1 blobs+APTicket…redsn0w will do the rest, should you need to restore.

This is another great news and a new hhope for all of us by the Dev-Team.

But the question is, do we really need a Downgrade?

Most you would answer, YES. But in my opinion NO!. Because the most important thing we need is Jailbreak and Unlock. And no one is talking about it.

iFaith v1.4 Updates Saves iOS 5.0 / iOS 5.0.1 SHSH Blobs & AP Tickets

by Hamza Tariq - on Dec 5th 2011 - No Comments

The famous hacker of the iOS community, the man behind the most famous jailbreak tool Sn0wBreeze, iH8Sn0w has just released the major update to its tool called iFaith. iFaith allows you save the SHSH blobs of the current iOS version running on your iDevice. iFaith is is different from Tiny Umbrella. So don’t mix iFaith with Tiny Umbrella. To be more clear iFaith saves the current version SHSH blobs, where as Tiny Umbrella saves the SHSH for future Firmwares and the current one both.

If you are a regular reader at FreakGeeks.com, So in past you might have read that you cannot save SHSH blobs for iOS 5.x and the hackers are working to figure out some solution. So after a long time ih8sn0w came up with a solution and updated its tool iFaith to save SHSH blobs for iOS 5.0 and iOS 5.0.1.

The newly launched iFaith supports all the latest versions with almost every older device, except the new devices with A5 processor. Till now iFaith is only for Windows and no luck for MAC OS X users so far. However, if you are one of those who have the A4 device, we recommend you to save the SHSH blobs. If you have kept updating yourself with jailbreak news, you must know, it’s nearly impossible to downgrade the device to older version with the release of iOS 5. Apple has started signing SHSH blobs differently in iOS 5 than it did in previous versions, disabling users from replaying them during a firmware restore.

However, the new iFaith update does not only save your iOS SHSH blobs of the latest devices, instead it also preserves the AP Ticket, which makes the iOS downgrading a little possible with at least custom IPSW option. iH8Sn0w also says the new iFaith update comes up with the couple of major performance tweaks, which performs the iOS SHSH dumping much faster than previous.

You can follow our complete guide on how to save SHSH Blobs using iFaith from here.
