We had a long debate over the auction of Instagram by Facebook, and come to know that Facebook at the moment is not going to do anything with the application and the largest community of good photographers. However, later sometime we got to know by our sources and community members that Facebook is up to launch a new application called Camera which integrates the number of Instagram filters, and will allow users to share their photos directly on the biggest social network of the world. In short, we learned that they are about to kill the Instagram community by having rights on doing anything with the application.

Few weeks ago, we learned that Facebook has rolled out new application update to Android users which contain two new applications within the single Facebook app. The new app contains the new Facebook Messenger app, and the not announced Facebook Camera app that actually allow users to upload their photos to their connected Facebook profiles. However, now today, Facebook has finally come up with a nicely written new application called Facebook Camera for the iOS users, which allows you to quickly capture and share the photos on the Facebook profiles, without using any kind of third party applications on your devices to make them beautiful like the Instagram photos.

Facebook Camera is available to download from the App Store for both iPhone and iPad users, and it does come with 15 filters of Instagram and is capable of take & upload the photos for more than 2048 by 2048 pixels directly to Facebook’s profiles. Facebook Acquires Instagram Officially For $1 Billion

by Hamza Tariq - on Apr 10th 2012 - No Comments

No doubt, this is one of the craziest news of the month. Facebook has just announced their plan of purchasing the immensely popular iOS Instagram for their social network for a $1 billion in cash and stock. Facebook’s CEO Mark Zuckberg has just announced the latest tidbit of its company in a press release that they are soon going to close their deal with Instagram for a $1 billion.

Instagram is one of the most popular iOS applications, and once it was an iPhone-exclusive photo sharing service. Instagram has more than 30 million iPhone users on their desk, and last month they have seeded their application and service for Android users as well. According to Instagram insights, the service is getting more than 5 million photo uploads per day. Check out the complete press release below:

 Facebook Attempts To Murder Instagram:

“I’m excited to share the news that we’ve agreed to acquire Instagram and their talented team will be joining Facebook.

For years, we’ve focused on building the best experience for sharing photos with your friends and family. Now, we’ll be able to work even more closely with the Instagram team to also offer the best experiences for sharing beautiful mobile photos with people based on your interests.

We believe these are different experiences that compliment each other. But in order to do this well, we need to be mindful about keeping and building on Instagram’s strengths and features rather than just trying to integrate everything into Facebook.

That’s why we’re committed to building and growing Instagram independently. Millions of people around the world love the Instagram app and the brand associated with it, and our goal is to help spread this app and brand to even more people.

We think the fact that Instagram is connected to other services beyond Facebook is an important part of the experience. We plan on keeping features like the ability to post to other social networks, the ability to not share your Instagrams on Facebook if you want, and the ability to have followers and follow people separately from your friends on Facebook.

These and many other features are important parts of the Instagram experience and we understand that. We will try to learn from Instagram’s experience to build similar features in our other products. At the same time, we will try to help Instagram continue to grow by using Facebook’s strong engineering team and infrastructure.

This is an important milestone fro Facebook because it’s the first time we’ve ever acquired a product and company with so many users. We don’t plan on doing many more of these, if any at all. But providing the best photo sharing experience is one reason why so many people love Facebook and we knew it would be worth bringing these two companies together.

We’re looking forward to working with the Instagram team and to all of the great new experiences we’re going to be able to build together.”

The great thing to know about the deal is, Facebook has decided to keep the Instagram as a stand-alone application, but with its acquisition, the social network surely going to make big changes in the application to integrate it more with Facebook than Twitter.  What do you think of Facebook’s Instagram $1 billion deal?

Fusion Lets You Integrate Facebook In iOS Like Twitter Is On iOS

by Hamza Tariq - on Apr 9th 2012 - No Comments

We have already received the tightly integration of Twitter into iOS, with the launch of last year latest iOS 5, but still there are lot of iOS users who don’t like to use the Twitter and have a great community over the Facebook, and want something for their Facebook buddies.  However, for those users now we have a new tweak in Cydia Store that will bring the Facebook integration into the iOS exactly similar to the Twitter integration into iOS.

Fusion –  is a new jailbreak tweak, recently launched in Cydia Store with an ability to integrate Facebook, Foursquare, and even the dead MySpace into the default iOS composition pane, and allows you to use the pane exactly as you use for Twitter to post new tweets. Now you would be able to post new updates to Facebook, and share info on Foursquare, using the same composition pane on your iPhone / iPad. The tweak doesn’t end here; it also allows you to use the same social integration even with the Siri, you can even use Siri to compose and post messages on Facebook, Twitter, Foursquare with this new tweak.

Facebook Integration Into iOS (iPhone) Makes Possible With Fusion

One of the great things about Fusion is you don’t need to learn any new thing to use it on your device; you can reach your social circles using the old and default methods which you use for Twitter on iOS devices. You won’t have to set any new thing to make it work on your device.
We know a lot of users are desperately waiting for Apple to integrate the Facebook into iOS, but it seems that Apple is not going to give a chance to Facebook, after their little mess with the Ping and Facebook integration. However, the Fusion has just filled the space, and introduced what users want on their devices, now users won’t have to wait any more to see Apple and Facebook decisions for the iOS integration.

Fusion is available to download, and it is available to purchase from Cydia’s BigBoss repo. Fusion comes with a little price tag of $2, but we guess it is enough for this kind of deep integration of social networks on iOS.

Facebook & Dropbox iPhone App Vulnerable To Online Identity Hacking

by Hamza Tariq - on Apr 7th 2012 - No Comments

The iOS might be not secure platform for the users anymore, due to third party access over its very own system. The very minimum access of legit developers on its owned file-system could also lead to be hacking and credential theft. According to a new security report, the Facebook and Dropbox iOS app is vulnerable to a little hack, which indirectly allows hackers to obtain access over your online identity with a little access on your device. Basically, it is neither the fault of Apple nor the iOS, it is a loophole in the Facebook and Dropbox iOS app, which saves the authentication tokens on the device without any kind of encryption and hard permission settings on the device.

The non-encrypted files can be easily available through connecting the device with any dock connection or a charging connection with a computer for a couple of minutes. The hackers can easily obtain these files, if you connect your device at public or unsecured charging dock station. The file apparently allows hackers to copy the content from one connected device to another device without any kind of security barrier, and this loophole actually allows users to access someone’s identity on other devices without even any kind of sign.  The security hole highlighted by Gareth Wright, who firstly, launched a testing application in the field to check whether he is able to remotely copy the files from the devices or not, and the results were shocking. He is successfully able to copy the files. It means a person with this security loop can easily collect your identity remotely from your device.

Initially, on the claim, Facebook reported that it only happened on the modified iOS firmware version, not on the genuine iOS firmware version by Apple for the iOS devices, but after a deep research by the security firm it is reported that the loop hole is also vulnerable on non-jailbroken devices, and someone can easily access these files using third-party tools like iExplorer on any public place, where you put your device on charging or for a sync.

However, there are no reports from the community; actually, no one is currently using this information to hack users information, but we recommend you to avoid connecting your device at public charging hubs or public WiFi connections because there might be some tools that allow you to browse your device over the WiFi network.
