China once again screwed Apple. Shenzhen a Chinese based company made iPad 2nd Gen with alot of features which Apple never thought of.
Christmas is in the air and finding gifts for gadget nuts is difficult if they’ve already got the latest gear. If you’ve got a geek in the family then get yourself over to Shenzhen for what is possibly the best iPad clone so far. But you have to act fast or else Steve Jobs will steal its alluring features for the second generation iPad.
Unlike the 7-inch mini iPads, this one has a full 9.7-inch screen based on the Freescale iMX515 hardware. It is powered by a 800MHz ARM Cortex A8 processor, 512MB DDRII memory and 4GB Flash.
The capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 1024×768 is based on IPS technology from LG. The other features include Android 2.2, Wi-Fi, 3G, front camera and built-in 3800mAh battery. It lacks SD card support, but there is a SIM card slot, 30-pin connector, five speakers and removable antenna in the back.
It is priced quite reasonably for all of the features, but higher than most other iPad clones, at USD 277. Here are some more pics side by side with an original.
This is possibly the best candidate for the Shanzhai second generation iPad, carrying the signature sleekness and killer looks of the original, minus the Apple logo.
WOW. What a design and cool features and thrice the less of the original price. Apple will have to make something more interesting to capture the market. Lets see what they will come up in their next iPad2.
