A report has just claimed that the rumors of iPad 3 which were shattered are now coming up and the first of it is the iPad 3 is going to have Retina display but it’s sure too and the suppliers for the retina display will be either LG, Samsung or Sharp.
In past Apple shifted its iPad 2 displays duty to Samsung due to minor problems in LG’s display so LG may not make the deal.
Taiwan-based Radiant Opto-Electronics has become the major supplier of backlight units (BLUs) for iPad 3 panels, according to industry sources.
Apple has chosen LG Display (LGD), Samsung Electronics and Sharp to supply LCD panels for the iPad 3, with LGD remaining the biggest panel supplier for the US vendor’s tablet PCs, the sources said.
Radiant accounts for over half of the BLUs LGD needs for its iPad 3 panels, while Samsung sources BLUs from the Taiwan maker for all its iPad 3 panels, the sources said. Sharp also uses BLUs from Radiant for iPad 3 panels, as well as from a Japan-based BLU supplier, the sources added.
Samsung is the number-two iPad 3 panel supplier, but Sharp stands a chance of overtaking the Korea competitor if it is able to run stable supplies of quality panels for the Apple tablet, the sources commented.
As the people around are claiming the launch of iPad 3 in the early 2012, Apple till now should have selected the display supplier for the iPad 3.
