Today we are getting iOS 5 officially by Apple. The first question asked by ever one who is on previous modem firmware and on older version is that “Can We Update To iOS 5? Will be still able to unlock? Will Gevey Sim work on iOS 5?

The answer to all these questions is a big YES. How come a yes? Yes because of the Dev-Team and their Tool Redsn0w and ih8sn0w for his tool Sn0wbreeze. From now on these two tools will support the most wanted feature of Baseband Preservation. Sn0wbreeze was preserving the baseband since the day it was made and Redsn0w will be new in this field.

At first the tool for MAC, PWNGAE Tool was used to preserve the baseband for iDevices and  from now on the Dev-Team member @MuscleNerd has ported PWNAGE Tool into Redsn0w for MAC and Windows. From now on Redsn0w will preserve the baseband for iOS Devices with the new build version.

Today @MuscleNerd Tweeted that:

We’re adding most popular PwnageTool usage into redsn0w (for Windows+Mac). First up: removing BB update

The method seems to be same as Sn0wbreeze one for making a custom IPSW.
Till now no release date has been revealed by the Team. Before they release this update, they will need to test it properly because it will be a new function ported to Redsn0w.

Stay tuned to know about this great update for MAC and Windows.
