Few days back we reported about the new rumor which was pointing towards a 4-inch LCD for the upcoming iPhone. Today, 9to5mac got a word from their reliable sources at Foxconn in China that the new iPhone, which is said to be iPhone 5 is now headed towards the production. The sources also told that there many new devices fluctuating around (everyone is different from each other) so it is difficult to tell now about which one of them would go in production and will be called the new iPhone 5.

There are something’s which are common among those devices are:

  • 4+ inch display (made by LG on at least one of them)
  • No teardrop-shaped devices as were rumored in the lead up to the iPhone 4S. Samples so far have been symmetrical in thickness. Also longer/wider.
  • None of the sample devices have the iPhone 4/4S form factor
  • None of the devices are final versions

The return of iPhone launch at WWDC 2012 would probably back. We can expect the iPhone 5 launch at WWDC 2012 because this is the only event of Apple coming after 5 months in which they take Technology to the next level. If we recall the previous iPhone’s launch by Apple, So iPhone 4S was the only launch made by Apple off the event. The iPhone 4 was launched by Apple at the 2010’s WWDC.

Every time Apple has made announcement of their new iPhones on some specific event. It was only iPhone 4S which was released off the event and unbelievingly it made a record breaking sales after its release of few months. The ground breaking sales of iPhone 4S were told by Apple’s Q1 report published the day before. iPhone 4S is a huge success for Apple so far.

If we talk about the new iPhone 5, we are hearing a lot of rumors about a 4-inch LCD for it. The rumors about the 4-inch LCD started from last year’s February. The rumors even pointed out towards a 4-inch LCD for iPhone 4S. But we didn’t saw the LCD change so far by Apple.

How do you think a 4-inch LCD would look like on an iPhone?
