According to research company Nielsen, iOS is now the number two operating system in smartphones in US. Android has taken the leap with nearly a third of US postpaid mobile subscribers between Nov 2010 and Jan 2011. Android leads with 29% while Apple and iOS follows with 27% followed by RIM with 27% of the market. Android is attracting the young youth very much.
Any ways Apple is getting ready to unveil a new iPhone this June, supposedly called the iPhone 5 which is expected to run the newest version of the iOS 5.
HTC follows with 12 percent of consumer smartphone owners having an HTC Android device and 7 percent owning an HTC device running a Microsoft OS. Ten percent of consumer smartphone owners had a Motorola Android device and one percent owned a Motorola device running a Microsoft OS.
