Pod2g’s Confirmation:

Pod2g , the famous French iOS hacker who is known for creating a buzz round his releases , has lived up to his reputation once again and has announced on his Twitter page that the much anticipated untethered jailbreak for iOS 5.1.1 is ready for its release and will be hitting in the coming few days. What is clear from the tweet is also the fact that a team of jail breakers has been involved in creating the tool much like the “Dream team” that was behind the iOS 5.0.1 untethered jailbreak .In his tweet he thanked “planetbeing” and “pimskeks” for their support. This is the second major confirmation coming through in the last few days over the release of iPhone 4S jailbreak iOS 5.1.1.

Compatible Devices:

As regards the devices which will be compatible with the new version of the tool Absinthe 2.0, there is going to be hardly any disappointment as almost all devices running on iOS 5.1.1 have been covered. The devices already tested on the mainframe of the new tool include iPhone 4S, iPhone 4 CDMA, iPhone 4 , iPhone 3GS, iPad 2 Wi-Fi, iPad 1 , iPad 2 GSM , iPad 2 CDMA, iPad 3 CDMA, IPad 3 Wi-Fi, iPod 4G and iPod 3G . The devices whose testing has still not been completed but which are expected to work on the new version are iPad 2 Wi-Fi, iPad 3 global and Apple TV 2. Apple TV 3, however, will not be supported by the tool.

Why JailBreak?:

One of the major reasons why people choose to jailbreak the Apple devices is that it allows the running of those applications which Apple doesn’t allow on the software or is not available in the App Store provided by Apple. For instance after a jailbreak you can easily use WhatsApp or Viber on your Apple iPhones. So users get to customize their devices, also making a way for apps and tweaks to get into the new version of iOS and iPhones.
