iOS 5 Internal Setting Reveals Nuance Voice Integration

The Chronic Wire who’s managed by the key member of Chronic Dev team has just managed to get hands on and posted some snapshots of the special build that includes the internal settings in iOS 5 that were out only for Apple’s employees and developers for testing and figure outing the bugs, these special internal settings were not available on the build that pushed for developers. Among the screenshots, one of them suggests that Nuance voice recognition is integrated in iOS 5. Basically, before the launch of iOS 5 we have heard that Apple deals with the Nuance that allows Apple to integrate nuance voice in iOS 5 and provide functionality of text-to-speech and voice recognition to iOS.

The screenshot unveils some options like “mic on space key”, “auto-record input” and “Nuance dictation” that suggest Apple has been working on the ways to integrate some additional buttons in the stock iPhone keyboard to let users speak and have text transcribed on screen. Currently a Nuance voice for iOS devices is available in the shape of Application dubbed as “Dragon Dictation”.
