iOS 5.0.1 Failed To Fix Battery Drain Issues, What’s Next?

The day before Apple released iOS 5.0.1 to fix the Battery Drainage issues on iDevices. But today it seems that the update was rolled out for fun and to fix the Jailbreak Exploit found out by Miller and to fix SIRI for Australian users. The change log of the final release said that:

“Fixed Bugs Affecting Battery Life”

This bug fixing technically screwed the battery life for people who updated on iOS 5.0.1. The news comes from Apple’s official discussion page. Where iPhone 4S Battery Life is a Major issue. The thread is very big, if you go on reading it, it will take you a month to read all the comments. But props to zdnet‘s,  Adrian Kingsley-Hughes, who took hi time out and took out some of the amazing responses to Apple’s new update of iOS 5.0.1.

Check them below:

apple4s nige:

‘usage is on mine is 1%-3% a min after update, going get my  money back. usless this is ….‘

‘Installed the new IOS 5.0.1 two hours ago.  I started a test at 1:30 CT today.  5% battery drain in 45 minutes with WIFI and location services turned on and me not touching the Iphone 4S.  The new update doesn’t seem to help much.’

‘5.0.1 is a bust! I was one of the lucky ones getting two days out of a charge, albeit with a lot shut off.  After updating I am seeing my power drain at a much quicker rate. Nice.’

‘Same here.  Updated about 1.5 hours ago, battery has drained 20% since then with no usage!  This is awful!’

‘Upgraded to 5.0.1 this morning.  Still draining at the exact same rate.  Unplugged with a full charge 2 1/2 hours ago, and already down to 80% with light usage.  Just lost 2% during a 15 minute shower.  I see no difference at all.’

‘New update is  no help at all. I opened the safari  and lost  2 % just by opening the safari browser…This really *****’

‘IOS 5.0.1 has fixed nothing for me.’

Rich Williamson:

‘Upgrade from ios5.0 to ios 5.0.1 did nothing, in fact it made it worse.’

It’s hard to find users who are happy with the new update. There are a few.

‘I’m at 9 hours and 22 minutes, and showing 65% left. So far, it’s doing much better.’

Adrian Kingsley also clarifies that he got some words from Developers who used the same build this week reported no battery issues and the battery life was improved.

I’ve also heard from several developers who claimed to be getting better battery life from the iOS 5.0.1 beta that Apple made available to them earlier this week, and they claim that the release version works the same too.

To make a conclusion at this time is no possible because the results are not one sided. Some are reporting good battery and some are reporting worse. Any ways why should you wait for the another release of iOS or so. It is not yet known, whether it is any App or any specific Devices causing this issue. Just visit here and stop all the battery drainage issues without any update.

For the iPhone 4S users, SIRI Raise to Speak is battery killer. So turn it off to avoid battery drain fast.

Don’t forget that we warned you about not updating to iOS 5.0.1. Everything happens for a reason. If you are on iOS 5.0.1 and want to go back to iOS 5.0, So the time is right. You can do it now before it is too late and Apple stops signing iOS 5.o. And you get stuck on iOS 5.0.1 with Battery Drainage issues getting worse.

Do let us know if you are one of them who is affected by the massive battery drainage after updating to iOS 5.0.1.
