The popular hacker iH8sn0w today released an update to iReb i.e iReb 5. The new iReb will help the people to install the custom .ipsw of iOS 5 made by either sn0wbreeze or the normal .ipsw file. iReb will put your iDevice into DFU mode by exploiting the limera1n and the lets you pass through all the errors which occur while installing the custom firmware in iTunes.

iH8sn0w has released/updated the iReb after 10 months of the release of iReb 4. Below are the release notes

  • Much smaller file size (390kb).
  • Fixed USB 3.0 issues.
  • iREB’s speed for the iPhone 2G/iPhone 3G/iPod Touch 1G has increased significantly!
  • Fixed rare DFU detection issues.
  • Updated limera1n/steaks4uce payload to not hook “cmd_go” on 4.x images (nothing severe, but useless here).
