Just like a hidden panorama camera mode feature of iOS 5, hackers have found another hidden feature of iOS 5, which brings an auto-correct bar to the iOS keyboard like android auto-correct keyboard. The new hidden feature can be easily enabled on your device without performing jailbreak on your device, but the procedure is quite lengthy.

The new auto-correct bar seems to be pretty cool, seems Apple trying to make its iOS auto-correct humor less. Hidden iOS keyboard brings an auto-correct bar above the keyboard which brings the couple of auto-correct selections for the users. The feature is unveiled by the new rising star “Sonny Dickson” who previously unveils the hidden panorama mode of iOS 5 camera app.

To enable the auto-correct bar of iOS 5 on your device, you have to download the tool which provides you the ability to edit the iTunes created backup of your iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch on your computer.

  1. Download iBackupBot and install it on your machine. It’s compatible with both Windows and Mac OS X.
  2. Backup your iPhone, iPod, or iPad with iTunes (just plugging it in and syncing it with iTunes should accomplish this).
  3. Open iBackupBot and locate your most recent backup for that device in the left sidebar. Click on it.
  4. Scroll down to Library/Preferences/com.apple.keyboard.plist and double-click on it. You’ll need to hit Cancel if you aren’t registered.Note that you may want to write down what was originally there in case you want to get the old keyboard back when all is said and done.
  5. Erase everything between the two <dict> lines and replace it with:

6. Save the plist file, then hit the “Restore From Backup” button in iBackupbot.

After doing the steps, your device will reboot. After the reboot is done, You will see the feature in your Keyboard.

The hidden iOS 5 auto-correct bar keyboard seems to be pretty buggy, so before using it. You must have to in mind that you are using an incomplete version of the feature. The folks over Macstories also pushed some images claiming that Apple has already made this feature public in Japanese version of iOS 5.
