It appears that some users have faced some critical issues while updating their first generation iPads to the Apple’s latest released next generation iOS 5. Here are the steps, which you have to perform with your machine and iPad to get it back in working condition:
- Download a copy of Redsn0w 0.9.9b7 for Windows or Mac from the Dev-Team blog.
- Copy Redsn0w to your /Applications folder on your start up drive
- Run Redsn0w
- Start iTunes
- Put the iPad into DFU Mode (see here for instructions)
- Click on the Extras button in Redsn0w
- Click on the Recovery Fix button in Redsn0w
While following the above mentioned you will see the scary stuff on the iPad screen, just ignore it and leave it alone allow Redsn0w to do its work. After all of the hiccups and several restarts of the iPad you will get it back in the working status.
