First Third Party Widget For iOS 5 Notification Center Released In Cydia

Few hours ago, iPhone Dev team has released iOS 5b1 tethered jailbreak to public and now its reported that some developers has managed to dig into iOS 5 SDK through jailbreaking their device and revealed that it is possible to create our own widgets for iOS 5 Notification Center, by default Apple has made iOS 5 notification center limited to two widgets created by its self and also did not provide any SDK tool to developers to create their own custom widgets for iOS 5. Currently, the iOS 5 notification center is also limited to iPhone and iPod Touch users, means no iPad and iPad 2.

As we have said you that developer gain access to iOS 5 notification center and revealed that it is possible to develop widget for iOS 5, and now we came across to this news that first third party iOS 5 widget, with complete control landed on Cydia Store. The tweak named as a “UISettings” and available in Cydia for quite some time as an extension of the multitasking bar, but now the app has been completely re-written by developers to support iOS 5 widgets, the function of this tweak is to provide shortcuts for system respring, just like a SBSetting tweak.

You can download this widget from Cydia by adding he Developers website address. ( under beta testing, according to developer the full version of tweak is also in the work and will shortly come out.

It’s a great opportunity for developers to create widgets for iOS 5 notifications under Cydia, if Apple didn’t lose its policy and not allow developers to create custom own widgets.
