Apple Announces “Find My Friend” New Location Based Service

If you do remember we have reported you back in the July, after the release of iOS 5 beta 3. When some eagle eye folks had claimed that Apple is working on the location based social network. A new social network, which based on the location of the users. Apple is reportedly working on the social networks for their device users.

Today in the launch event keynote, Apple has announced the new feature of iOS 5 and iPhone 4S “Find My Friend” the app, which we reported in the start of the year. The app actually works like the Foursquare and all other location based application, through the app you can share your location with your friends and can add new friends to your list, to share their location with you for limited time.

With this new feature, now you can keep an eye on your friends but only on their approval. For example, if you request your friend to share his location with you can check him on the map and locate him live while he is on the move or at rest. Find My Friend is come as the addon feature of Apple’s new iCloud and will go live on October 12 with the public launch of iCloud.
