Alongside the release of iOS 5.0.1 to developers today, Apple has also released an update to iTunes 10.5.1 beta 2 to developers this morning. The new beta updates come up with a new support of iTunes Match for the Apple TV. iTunes 10.5.1 is available to download from the Apple’s developer portal. Apple has posted the iTunes 10.5.1 beta 2 links to the Apple’s developer forum for Windows and Mac OS X.
Apple has especially emailed the developers to inform them about the new feature iTunes Match support for Apple TV. The update is also carries numerous bug fixes, and along with this entire Apple once again delayed the iTunes Match. Apple has, firstly, announced that they will launch the service on October 4th at the “Let’s Talk iPhone” but they pushed down its launch to the end of October, and now finally again it seems that they could not meet up with their own announcement of service launch and seeded the new beta versions of their software’s to developers.
iTunes 10.5.1 beta 2 is now available and includes a number of important stability and performance improvements. iTunes Match is also now available for testing on Apple TV.
On your Apple TV, choose Music > Turn on iTunes Match.
Please remember to backup regularly and do not delete the music you add to iCloud from your computer.
