Yes, you heard it right. Now you can change the carrier name on your android phone by an application known as: “Carrier Name”

Similarly “MakeItMine” and “FakeCarrier” came in for iOS through Cydia, Carrier Name enables modification of the lockscreen and status bar carrier label.

Although some characters can’t be used, you know how to work it out, don’t you? And if you don’t, I’ll explain the rest at the end.

Note: This app will not function on the HTC EVO 4G with stock Sense ROMs nor any ROM on any Android device that only displays the network you’re connected to.

It requires your android to be rooted so,. You can purchase the app through Android Market for 0.99$.

And now about the characters that aren’t allowed to be used, just use Microsoft Word on your PC for writing any sort of symbols or characters, copy the name and email it to yourself. Open the email on your Android phone, copy the name and then easily paste it onto the application…Just as easy as that… 😉
