RIM’s Alex Kinsella wrote on the company’s blog:

“BlackBerry App World is now in over 100 countries, seeing an average of 3 million downloads per day, and we recently crossed the 1 billion app download milestone!”

Well its still impressive stats for the company while having a such major rivals in the market like Apple’s App Store and Android Market Place,  it is still not clear that the figure of 1 billion app download served is includes application updates, however, and not just initial application downloads.
