Up till now, Apple has been only permission to sell its iPad 2’s Wi-Fi Model in China, but now according to the report of Wall Street Journal, Apple has now granted certification from the government to sell its 3G capable iPad 2 model in China’s mainland. Apple has got the “network access license” from the telecom authority of China, and now offers 3G capable iPad 2 model along with Wi-Fi model in China.

According to China’s Telecommunication Equipment Certification Center, a device by Apple with third-generation high-speed wireless data capabilities was issued the network access license needed for the company to begin official sales in China. The device, listed under model number “A1396,” is compatible with the 3G standard WCDMA, and would work with the cellular network operated by Apple’s local iPhone partner, China Unicom (Hong Kong) Ltd
Apple has granted certification under the device model number “A1396”, is compatible with 3G standard WCDMA. MacRumors has also noted that this is the model number of 3G iPad 2, which was released in the U.S back in March. Also they have claimed, yesterday someone from Apple has published a page of 3G iPad 2 on online store, but later removed the image.
