Dual-Core A5 chip was introduced back in March when Apple launched its iPad 2. Dual-Core A5 chip it’s, times two, now ported to the newly released iPhone 4S. iPhone 4S was announced back at the Apple’s press conference with new features other than a new design. Where as many of the people were expecting a redesigned iPhone this year. Unfortunately no new redesigned iPhone came this year. Better luck next year for the new and redesigned iPhone. On this year’s Media event Apple not only released iPhone 4S, but also released iOS 5 GM (Gold Master) for Developers.
With a hope like always hackers dig into iOS and find things. Like previously in iOS 5 Beta, the reference for new iPhone 4 was found with the name of iPhone 4,2 which later on was proved to be a new iPhone 4S. We cannot confirm that if it is Apple’s new marketing strategy or part of the plan to leak things in its own code. This time a hacker from 9to5mac, dig into the source code of iOS 5 GM and found out a new Apple TV reference code in it.
As you can see in the above code that there is a new string with the name of “AppleTV3,1”, which clearly states that Apple is working on a new Apple TV, which is likely to be called Apple TV 3G. We can expect the new Apple TV 3G with some new features like A5 Chip, Upgraded RAM, 1080p play back capability, and Bluetooth 4.0 to connect with iOS Devices.
The first Apple TV was released back in 2007, January 9th. After three and a half year in 2010, Apple released the Second Generation, Apple TV, which is known as Apple TV 2G.
As far as the release date is concerned, no words are said by Apple or no hints have been found so far and likely in future, no events seemed to be planned by Apple. Apple may debut its Apple TV 3G by the end of this year. Stay tuned for more information.
