Apple Soon Introduce Driver Free Printing For iOS and Mac OS X

In some recent moves from Apple to improve its product, we have seen Apple quietly begun dropping the support of certain important thinks and start introducing new ways and less buggy techniques. In iOS 5, Apple suggests us that they want to promote an environment on which users not have to require wires around it to connect its device with PC or Mac, and for it they introduce many awesome features such as Wireless Syncing, AirPlay and e.t.c. Today we have found through the folks of web that in some recent patent filling Apple introduce such methods, which would drop requirement of printer driver for printing from iOS devices and Mac OS X. Apple filled two patents recently and form one of them entitled “Walk-up Printing Without Drivers”, which reveals the Apple’s thought and technique of circumventing  the printer driver requirement, in case of printing request when the device has not compatible driver for printer, such as we have iOS devices, iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch.

In other patent, Conceivably Tech notes that Apple also introduced a method of printing, on which iOS devices and Macs are allowed to wirelessly detects the printers driver, and detects that the driver has installed compatible driver or not. The patent also describes that in case of no compatible driver, the device will use a series of API’s based on a discovery protocol such as Bonjour, an Internet Printing Protocol (IPP) and the PostScript Printer Description (PPD) file, which is used to detect the printer.
