It was only yesterday that Apple had announced the release of a new beta build for the OS X Lion 10.7.5 for the developers. The Cupertino based firm seems to be continuing this trend and has announced the release of a new beta build for Mountain Lion 10.8.1.

The release of this build comes only a week after the first beta build for 10.8.1 was seeded by Apple. They are trying hard to bring the OS in the forefront and trying to fix the issues like stability and battery life.

The game center for the current iOS is far from being refined and faces frequent disruptions and disconnecting issues whether one is one 3G or a wi-fi network. However, the firm seems to have done a stellar job in improving the desktop offering and given the price tag of the OS, the users are not likely to complain.

There has been no official changelog that has been defined at this point and there are only speculations on what the new maintenance update is likely to target. For all registered Mac OS X developers, the download link for the OS X 10.8.1 Build 12B17 is now available on the Mac Dev Center.

OS X Mountain Lion, is the latest version of the OS by Apple and it has seen a mass adoption featuring 2 million units within first 48 hours of its launch. As the Mac users are trying to get a grip on the new features and it is the fastest selling iteration in the history of OS X. iOS has become very popular in the last few years, which has led to the amalgamation of mobile and desktop with Apple having done an incredible job with Notifications, iMessage and Reminders which have trickled on to the main stage.
