In the special event held by Apple in San Jose, California, the company launched a range of new products including Macs as well as iPad Mini. Though the Macs caught attention of the viewers, but iPad Mini definitely grabbed the limelight because this was the most awaited product. It is said to be a surprise move from Apple in which the tech-giant launched 4th generation 9.7 inch-screen iPad.

Price of iPad Mini

The very first thing which of course is important for the users is the price. It is worth noticing that iPad Mini is not cheap at all. It starts at $329 for the 16GB version with Wi-Fi only. If you want the one which comes with cellular connection as well, you need to shell out extra hundred dollars. The iPad Mini with cellular service comes at a price of $429 for 16GB. iPad Mini is available in the market in three versions of disk space and these include 16GB, 32 GB and 64 GB.

Features and Specs

iPad Mini comes with 7.9” screen size diagonally and a screen resolution of 1024×768 pixels which makes it approx 163 pixels per inch. It does not offer Retina Display Quality such as iPad 3 or 4th Gen iPad.

iPad Mini comes with dual-core A5 processor chip, a 5 megapixel camera and a 1.2 megapixel FaceTime camera along with HD. It has the ability of 4G LTE as well. iPad Mini comes with 10 hours of battery life in case you are using Wi-Fi and 9 hours if you use data connection. New Lightning conductor is another feature of the device. The device appears to be fantastic with fast processor chip. However price is the main feature which may let it down.

Availability of iPad Mini

iPad Mini with the Wi-Fi connectivity is available in black & slate or white &silver colors from November 2, 2012, i.e., from Friday. After these Wi-Fi models have come out, Wi-Fi models with cellular service will start operating too. Initially the iPad Mini will be launched in 34 countries all around the globe. Availability of the device in India has not been clear yet.

When will the pre-orders begin?

Pre-orders will begin on 26th October 2012. The device will be available in the stores on 2nd November. As of now, India is not found on the list of countries where the device will be launched in first phase.
