Just on the heels of the release of OS X 10.8.1 to the common public, Apple Inc has given select developers a beta release of the new update to Mountain Lion OS X 10.8.2.
Apple had started to solicit the developers early on Wednesday and invited them to participate in the beta for OS X 10.8.2. the developers accepted the invitation were given the access to the pre-beta release from Thursday.
First build to the OS X mountain Lion 10.8.2 has been called as Build 12C31a, as per the people who are familiar with eth specifications of the software. The combo update, which can be directly downloaded from the official website, comes in a size of 642 megabyte.
The main target with the present build of OZ X 10.8.2 is the Facebook Integration. Apple has specifically asked the developers to maintain the testing focus on Facebook Integration. The firm is all set to launch a system wide integration of Facebook for a public launch along with the software update of Mountain Lion, sometime later this year.
People with the knowledge of the pre-release software have indicated that Apple asked the developers to focus on Game Center, Messages, reminders and Safari for the testing of OS X 10.8.2.
The first beta version of the software has been found to have no particular issues.
Earlier on Thursday, the company had released OS X mountain 10.8.1 publically, which was just a month later after the OS update went on sale in the Mac App Store.
The software update provides a fix for Migration Assistant, iMesage and audio after connecting to the ThunderBolt displays.
With the highly anticipated OS iOS 6 all set to go live later this year, Apple is working hard on the compatibility of the same and the latest beta seed comes as a part of the similar efforts in line. The previous release 10.8.1 was a maintenance release for solving issues with MacBook battery life.
