Apple applied a nice strategy by releasing the contract iPhone 4S first and later on they will release Factory Unlock iPhone 4S. iPhone 4S was revealed on October 4th at Apple’s Media Event. The Pre-Orders started exactly after 3 days of the revelation.
When iPhone 4S was revealed, it disappointed many of the fans due to the unchanged design and highly expected iPhone 5. It was expected that the iPhone 4S may not be sold as much as the iPhone 4’s were sold previous year. But this time, iPhone 4S Pre-Orders broke the record of previous sales on just a single carrier and in just 12 Hours after the Pre-Orders started.
Reuter reports that:
The previous record showed by macrumors shows that, the last year when iPhone 4 was launched in 2010, the record was of 600,00 iPhone 4 pre-orders in first day from across all carriers in US, France, Germany, Japan and the UK.
This is the first time that AT&T has solely recorded a sales of 200,000. The iPhone 4S is also available on Verizon and Sprint in the U.S. A part from U.S, Apple also started Pre-Orders for iPhone 4S in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Japan and the UK. The record of those sales is yet to come.
Due to the over helm demand for iPhone 4S, the Pre-Orders shipment has been delayed for some International Countries. The shipping time has extended to 1 – 2 weeks, which means they won’t be getting iPhone 4S on October 14th.
It seems that iPhone 4S will be the most successful phone ever launched by Apple in history.
